Default Okay! I Did It! I Don't Regret It!

Okay so for awhile I was having a crisis on which MMORPG to play and even though GW wasn't exactly what I was looking for, I must say that buying the PvP Access Kit was the best choice ever. I honestly don't like the PvE portion of the game to be honest. I don't know why but it just feels too much like a single player game to me and like the world is just not as immersive and I could be wrong and if you have anything to say about me missing out on the PvE ascept please tell me.

Anyways, I love GW! I find myself playing the PvP portion finally getting the hang of things now and the statement of being called a retarded noob on Random Arenas have lessened (LOL!). Yes I have done the first "practice" arena (the simplest one) and even open the elite version of that one too. So yeah, I'm thankful for my previous posts here and you guys' help. Is there any advice or anything you would want to add for me as a noob? Any input, comments, suggestions, or anythig is greatly appreciated.

Glad to hear you are enjoying PvP. Don't be shy about asking in the waiting areas about builds. You'll get some grief from the immature idiots, but also help from the better players. You can check guru's Gladiator's Arena section for info. If you find you are having problems with a certain build, post it and ask for help there. DO NOT ask for a build.

Find a guild. PvE is not single player, but many people play it that way. If you find a guild that does PvP and PvE both, you can easily get people to play with. But even if you stick to PvP, get a guild. Having people who won't call you an idiot instantly will help when you struggle with things (builds, weapon sets, armor, target priority, etc.). And even better, for things like HA and GvG where you get to form a team (as opposed to RA) you can be sure to have people to not only play with, but to work out build strategies. And unless you get guest invites, being in a guild is the only way to access GvG.

Thanks Darcy! Yeah I know better than that. I know better because it's like asking someone to give you something they worked hard for. I also know that some builds don't work in my playstyle and I've some to notice and I also admit i tried finding other builds and got my ass whooped easily because its not my playstyle, I will def. ask around and stuff anything to make me a better player. Thanks for the response

You're really missing out. it's almsot because GW has so many instanced areas that the PvE storytelling is so effective. you can delve into the story, or into deeper lore and the myths of the world by exploring and completing the quests. although PvE can become stale it is a lot of fun before the farming comes into play.
And basically if you can make it in PvP you can probably survive the dodgey players that hang around tyria ;D just don't let any insults get to you, some people are just downright weird

I also prefer pvp over pve. But U shud give it an try

Anyways. Like others alrdy said. For GvG an guild is required. In HA people ask ranked players (show title) so also handy to find an guild for that. But untill that, I suggest u do RA and AB or the CM (Jade quarry and Fort aspenwood). This is more casual and will teach u the basics. And many people (including me) prefer RA over HA or GVG because u can just "click enter" at any time without having to find an group.

Just an couple of things. Most people play this game for 4+ years. So people will QQ when u run bad builds or do bad things. (go out of monk range, spam frenzy, use healing skills on an warrior, no ressurection signet in RA as non healer, starting timer in HA etc.) The list is pretty big! So yeh, just enjoy the game

pm me if u need any help or info.

I like GW PvE exactly because it can be a solo experience when you're not in the mood for keeping company with random idiots... that being said, it can be fun to play with a group of like minded peoples so maybe you should look at finding an active PvE guild if you want to get the most out of Guild Wars PvE side...

Of course, if you're more into PvP you really need a PvP based guild to do anything more than RA/AB/JQ/FA...

Either way, have fun and remember being in a guild is a large part of playing GUILD wars.

Thanks guys! You've all been very helpful. Please feel free to message me in-game. My character name is Xedium Lightbane. I'm usually hanging out in RA lol but I've found GToB very fun too!
